60th Anniversary Everest Treks

2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt Everest in 1953 by Tenzing Norgay and the late Sir Edmund Hillary. It was a momentous event in history and we’re celebrating it with a series of Everest region 60th Anniversary Treks. There are five different treks varying in duration and intensity, and all of them will culminate at the 3800m Thyangboche Monastery on May 29th 2013 where we will host a special dinner.
Thyangboche Monastery is the most important Buddhist spiritual site in the Nepal Himalayas and this amazing setting, ringed by soaring Himalayan peaks in all directions, is a fitting place for celebration. Dinner will be a special black tie event held in our specially constructed dining tent. The commemorations include a sumptuous banquet meal and the company of famous guests (including Greg Mortimer and Brigitte Muir) who have been influential in Everest’s history.
The treks range from 12-23 days from introductory to challenging. Regardless of your age, ability or experience there is an adventure for you to step foot on. These treks are only offered every five years and always sell out so be quick to put your name against a spot.
