Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar

I just wanted to drop you folks a note and let you know that I had a wonderful time one the Everest trek in Nepal. World Expeditions did an awsome job from start to finish. The level of professionalism and care that was given each and everyone of us was just beyond words. I would also like to mention our group leader Bir Singh. He is an increadible leader in every aspect. From diplomat to medical expert you have an asset that really goes beyond the call. If you have any type of employee of the month or year he gets my vote for sure!

Cuba

Cuba

Take an adventure holiday in CUBA with World Expeditions, one of the world’s leading travel companies.

Cuba is an extraordinary, enigmatic country and strikingly different from its Caribbean neighbours – with an eclectic mix of historical occupations adding to its appeal. Colonised by the Spanish from the 15th century, much of the indigenous populations were wiped out and replaced by African slaves. The British ruled for a short period in the 19th century, before the US took control of the island in 1902. Despite its many revolutions and somewhat turbulent history, Cuba today is a place of peace, beauty and ancient intrigues.  Havana, Cuba’s capital city is a declared World Heritage Site and an exciting city full of music and colourful culture. In contrast the countryside is peaceful with beautiful vistas of soaring mountains carpeted in thick rainforests, gentle waterfalls, sandy beaches, exotic flora, sugarcane fields and citrus groves.

The Weather in Cuba

Cuba is a hot sub-tropical climate all year round. Most rain falls between May and October and hurricanes can occur in autumn (August to November). Humidity varies between 75 per cent and 95 per cent. Cooler months are January to April when the least rain falls.November-April is the preferred months to travel to Cuba, when the day temperatures are in the 70s-80s F/23-32 C, with nights in the 60s-70s F/15-27 C. Trade winds keep things tolerable when the heat and humidity rise, and it's usually warm and sunny. September-October is the peak of the hurricane season. August can be stiflingly hot -- no wind and little rain. We recommend you pack lightweight cottons and linens most of the year; the high humidity makes it unwise to wear synthetics close to the skin. Light waterproofs are advisable all year round.
