Thank you for this fantastic experience! India was an experience I am sure none of us will forget. The vitality, the colours, the food, the children and the most amazing sunsets. But most of all we will never forget the friendliness of the World Expeditions staff and their efforts in making sure we all had a wonderful time on our Trek.
We are all keen to travel with World Expeditions again sometime soon.
Email a Friend - Black Sea and Cappadocia
There is plenty of spice in this itinerary that traces Istanbul to the Black Sea and into Turkey's exquisite Cappadocia. A smorgasbord of Istanbuls' best historic sites sets the tone for this remarkable journey that travels east to Amasra, where we'll enjoy the old town. But it is at Safranbolu where we are mesmerised by the well preserved Ottoman era houses and architecture together with mosques, fountains and Turkish baths. Along the Black Sea our journey takes in Sinop with its old castle and Amasya, famed for its apple orhards, poets and the tombs of Pontus Kings. Spilling further historic intrigue are Bogazkale, the ancient capital of the Hittite Empire till the late 13th century BC and Sivas, the Roman founded city nestled in the highlands of Central Anatolia. Leaving this behind we travel south into the heart of Turkey to the fascinating region of Cappadocia with its rock hewn landscapes where chimneys, churches and scenic valleys characterise the area. Following some day walks that will immerse us in the natural landscapes and to observe quaint villages, we fly from Kayseri to Istanbul.
