Costa Rica Traverse

The Coast to Coast Team ran a first rate operation. Would I do it again? Yes! I would have turned around on the beach and set off to do the full traverse right there and then.

East Greenland & The Scoresby Sund

Scoresby Sund in North East Greenland is the world's largest fjord system and also one of the most spectacular Arctic wilderness areas. We sail from Akureyri across the Denmark Strait where there are good opportunities to spot White-beaked Dolphins and Orca, Humpback and Minke Whales. The Volquart Boons Coast is our first sighting of Greenland where the remains of small Inuit settlements blend with the delicate colours of Dwarf Willow and Birch trees and a reliable viewing spot for Musk Oxen. In contrast, the Scoresby Sund is dominated by huge icebergs and snow peaks that rise over 3000m. This is the homeland of Polar Bear, Narwhal, Ringed and Harp Seals and birds such as Redpolls, Barancle and Pink-footed Geese. A final highlight of our voyage, dependent on ice conditions, is a visit to the remote Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord.
